Although the high-definition [HD] format war seems to end recently with Blu-ray from Sony triumphed over HD-DVD from Toshiba, there is still another low-profile HD format, HD VMD, for versatile multilayer disc, from New Medium Enterprises [NME]. NME which is based in London announced the new HD format at the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association [CEDIA] trade show 2007 held in early September last year.

Microsoft has announced the compatibility of the next version of its internet browser, Internet Explorer 8 [IE8], with the web standard to be its priority. The upcoming Internet Explorer 8 will have three rendering engines or modes which are the standard-compliant mode, the Internet Explorer 7 [IE7] mode and the older websites-displaying mode. Although IE8 initially has the IE7-rendering engine as the default option, it now has changed to the web standard-compliant mode.
