Vincy Chan has released a new version of her most recent album, Pieces Of V, which was released in October. This Version 2 of Pieces Of V has new materials contained in 1 additional DVD and 1 additional CD compared to the first version of the same album. Although I’m totally against ‘alternative’ or ‘deluxe’ versions of the same album, this one proves to be different as it contains a whole compact disc of 17 songs and another disc of her music videos [MV]. The songs are actually live performance of Vincy Chan on Jacky Cheung’s classics. Therefore, this newer version of Pieces Of V will definitely appeal to fans of both Jacky Cheung and Vincy Chan, and to those who like live versions of their songs.

After Sammi Cheng, here’s another compilation album from one of Hong Kong’s superstars, Joey Yung. She has won the Best Female Singer award at the Jade Solid Gold [JSG] Top Ten Song Awards for the last 5 years! Anyway, this album contains 60 tracks in 4 CDs where 2 CDs are live versions of her songs. Although I prefer studio-recorded songs, I do find that live versions of my favourite songs are refreshing and enjoyable when listening to them once in a while. Hence, I’ll not buy an album of only live-recorded songs. Her last album, Glow is posted here.
