Fiona Sit - Smile

Fiona Sit Hoi Kei has released her new Cantonese album, Smile, which is her second album of the year following the first one, It’s My Day, which is a Mandarin album. She participated in the musical Last Smile, First Tear which was held earlier this month together with Joey Leung and Edmond Tong. A few tracks in this album are theme songs of the sold-out musical such as The Smile Of Heaven or Tian Guo De Xiao Xiao, Sweet Honey or Tian Mi Mi and Stegosaur Strolling The Grassland or Jian Long Zai Cao Di San Bu. In fact, all the songs are written by Khalil Fong himself! Fiona Sit also has duets with both actors in this album. This new album will certainly brings smile to the fans of Fiona Sit Hoi Kei and Khalil Fong.

Da Mouth - Wang Yuan Kou Li Kou

Wang Yuan Kou Li Kou is the second album of Da Mouth or Da Zui Ba which is formed last year with the release of their debut album in the same year. This album looks ‘fresh’ and attractive to me with the fun and great-looking cover which is consistent with their image and style of music. I guess winning the best group in 2008 Golden Melody Awards, the Chinese version of Grammy Awards, has helped a lot with bigger budget and more creative people to work on it. Personally, I have only heard the first single, Always By Your Side or Yong Yuan Zai Shen Bian, which is the Chinese version of the very popular hit by Aoyama Thelma and I really like this song. I hope the other songs are also good enough for them to win again in the next edition of Golden Melody Awards.

Khalil Fong - Orange Moon

Khalil Fong has released his latest and fourth album, Orange Moon, which refers to the beautiful sunset with the orange sky as its background. This album contains a total of 11 songs including an English song with the title, Sing Along Song, as the opening track. The album ends with a fitting track called The Song Written For You or Wei Ni Xie De Ge, the Mandarin version for Sing Along Song. Orange Moon also has the song Everybody Will or Mei Ge Ren Dou Hui, the song written for Cartier’s charity project. My past experience with Khalil Fong’s albums is not that good as every album from him only a few good songs that can justify the purchase of the whole album. He is definitely over-rated by the media and hopefully, Orange Moon can at least achieve the quality of its predecessors.

Elva Hsiao - Fifth Avenue

Fifth Avenue or Di Wu Da Dao by Elva Hsiao Ya Xuan is the last album released by her under EMI before making the switch to Warner Music. She had been with EMI since her debut album and returned again for her latest album, 3-Faced or San Mian Xia Wa. After the release of Fifth Avenue, the fans of Elva Hsiao had to wait for 1087 days for the release of her next album. This album contains a total of 11 tracks and some of the recommended songs are Love’s Secret Messages or Ai Qing Tong Guan Mi Yu and Map Of Happiness or Xing Fu De Di Tu. In fact, Di Wu Da Dao was produced in New York and it certainly was worth all the money spent!
