Coco Lee is a Chinese American singer who became the first Chinese to perform in the Oscars in 2001 and US National Anthem at a major global sporting event in 2002. She performed A Love Before Time, the Academy Award nominee for Best Original Song from the movie Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon in the 73rd Academy Awards. Although the song did not won an Oscar, her performance won praises for hitting the high C6s right on and delivering solid vocals. A year later, Coco Lee performed at a Houston Rockets NBA game. Thus, she is dubbed as Asian Pop Diva and Asia’s Mariah Carey. This compilation album, Coco 1999-2008 Best Collection, contains 30 tracks including 4 new songs spanning over 2 discs. This also her first album in 2 years following his last Mandarin album, Just Want You, which was released back in 2006.
