MacBook Air
February 25th, 2008 | Written by Ginn Wei | Topic: Hardware, Technology

Yes, this is a technology-related post. It has been a long time since the last time I posted an entry on the latest technology news. Although MacBook Air was announced by Steve Jobs, Apple CEO, in Macworld Expo more than one month ago, I believe that some of us still have not heard of it [or it is really just me?]. Anyway, MacBook Air is the thinnest notebook in the world, so thin that you can fit it in a mailing envelope. Its minimum thickness is 0.16 inches while its maximum thickness is 0.76 inches which is still less than other notebooks!
However, being the world’s thinnest notebook doesn’t necessarily means that it must be slower and lack some of the features found in the thicker and heavier notebooks. It has a 13.3-inch LED-backlit widescreen display with 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It weighs about 3 pounds and comes in silvery finish. Furthermore, its processor, Intel Core 2 Duo is a modified version which is 60% smaller than the normal Core 2 Duo processors found in our desktops and notebooks. The starting price is USD1799 and MacBook Air has been shipped to stores.
