On The Run is Jay Chou’s eighth full album and it contains the unique Wild West-influenced The Cowboy Is Busy or Niu Zai Hen Mang. Although he is still releasing only one album every year, his critics have asked him to spend more time in his music because the quality of his songs has deteriorate due to other commitments. He has been busy directing and acting in movies while managing his own newly-established record company, JVR, which he co-founded with his long-time lyricist Vincent Fang and manager Yang Jun Rong. Personally, I did find his older songs better or maybe he should just ask Vivian Hsu to write a few good songs again for him…
